Funding

All parties, candidates and groups that contest an election and certain political donors have disclosure obligations following an election. Irrespective of whether registered or not, the Election Funding Act 1981 No 78 requires that parties, groups and candidates lodge declarations detailing political contributions received and electoral expenditure incurred.

Rights and responsibilities

All political parties, groups and candidates should visit the Election Funding Authority for information about their election funding rights, responsibilities and obligations.

Political donations

Some political donors are obliged to disclose donations and electoral expenditure over a certain amount under the Election Funding Act 1981 No 78. Information for political donors who make a donation to the election campaign of a party, candidate or a group of candidates who incur electoral expenditure, is at the Election Funding Authority.
