Scrutineers

Scrutineers play an important part in the election process. Candidates cannot witness the voting process or the count of votes but they can appoint scrutineers to represent them. Scrutineers may observe the voting and counting of votes to ensure that the election is conducted in a proper manner. Scrutineers attest to the election results and contribute to the transparency and impartiality of the process.

Scrutineers must:

  • be enrolled electors for New South Wales
  • be appointed by a candidate.
